Every future service dog needs enrichment and durable toys to prepare for the important role. The Hero Paws Toy Drive collects Nylabone PowerChews for the foster dogs of Leashes of Valor, a nonprofit that trains service dogs for veterans with PTSD.
Here is Bloom doing the “watch” command for her veteran. With unwavering eyes and a heart full of loyalty, Bloom's 'watch' command gives her veteran the courage to face forward, knowing she's always watching his back.
Your donation helps these incredible dogs stay engaged and happy while they undergo rigorous training to serve those who have sacrificed for our country .
How You Can Help: Donate Nylabone Power Chew Textured, Size XL or XXL (Link takes you to just an example of one of the flavors. The Nylabone Power Chews are the only chew toys used by Leashes of Valor. The dogs are mostly 50 pounds and bigger).
Bring toys to the Powhatan 4H-Dog Club meetings March 18, April 15, and May 20.
Here is a picture of me training Bloom. My family and I fostered her and trained her with the organization Leashes of Valor that we joined after hearing a presentation at the 4H-Dog Club last year. We are super excited for Bloom and the other foster dogs to go and serve their veterans. These dogs are super sweet and fun and would really appreciate some new toys.
